When measuring a box, it's important to understand the standard dimensions used in the packaging industry: length, width, and depth. Accurate measurement of these dimensions ensures a proper fit for your contents and efficient use of storage and shipping space.  

Always measure from the inside of the box to account for the thickness of the material. These measurements help ensure your items fit perfectly and are protected during transit. Here’s how to accurately measure a box: 

• Length: This is the longest side of the box when it is laid flat with the opening facing up. Measure the distance from the score on one end to the other score along the longest edge. 
• Width: This is the shorter side of the box when laid flat. Measure the distance from one the score on one end to the other score along the shortest edge, perpendicular to the length. 
• Depth (Height): This is the vertical dimension from the bottom of the box to the top when the opening is facing up. Measure the distance from the base score to the top score.

Our boxes are made from corrugated cardboard. Corrugated cardboard is a packaging material composed of a fluted corrugated sheet sandwiched between flat linerboard sheets, known for its lightweight yet sturdy structure used in shipping and storage applications. 

We offer 3 choices for corrugated cardboard grades on our online Box Builder:

• Light: Single Wall Corrugated Cardboard suitable for up to 4kg. 3mm thickness. Supplied in bundles of 25 boxes per bundle. 
• Medium: Single Wall Corrugated Cardboard suitable for up to 8kg. 5mm thickness. Supplied in bundles of 25 boxes per bundle. 
• Heavy: Double Wall Corrugated Cardboard suitable for up to 12kg. 7mm thickness. Supplied in bundles of 10 boxes per bundle.

Choose from 2 colour options:

• Brown: Brown corrugated cardboard is a rugged and eco-friendly packaging material characterised by its natural appearance. 
• White: White double-sided corrugated cardboard provides a bright and uniform surface for branding and visual presentation purposes.  

Using state-of-the-art digital printing technology, we ensure your designs are reproduced with precision and clarity, utilising the CMYK colour model for rich, true-to-life colours. Boxes24 will provide the template of your custom box for artwork preparation after your order is placed.

• Plain: Plain boxes provide reliable protection for shipping, storage, or moving needs while allowing for easy customisation with shipping labels, stickers, stamps or markings. 
• Outside Print: Outside print on a box allows you to personalise the exterior appearance of your packaging. This feature enables you to print custom graphics, logos, serial numbers and barcodes or text on the outer surface of the box. 
• Double Sided: This feature enables you to print custom graphics, logos, text, or images on both the interior and exterior surfaces of the box. Choosing inside print enhances the unboxing experience, adding a personalised touch when the recipient opens the package. It can include messages, instructions, or branded elements that create a memorable impression. 

For printed box orders of our standard range of products, you can expect next-day dispatch within just 24 hours, ensuring prompt delivery. For large or fully custom orders, our efficient manufacturing system guarantees dispatch within 5 days, ensuring you receive your boxes quickly and on time.

Delivery times vary based on your location, so please allow sufficient time for your order to arrive. While we cannot guarantee exact delivery timeframes, here are some general estimates: 

• Metro NSW: 3-5 business days 
• Metro VIC: 3-5 business days 
• Metro SA: 3-5 business days 
• Metro QLD: 5-7 business days 
• Metro WA: 2-4 business days 

General guidelines for artwork preparation are as follows: 

Dieline Requirements: 

• Ensure the dieline is print side facing as per the template provided. 
• Maintain the dieline in a 1:1 ratio as per the template provided. 

Bleed and Print Safe Area: 

• Include a 10mm bleed around all cut edges. 
• Keep all important artwork within the print-safe area, which is 10mm inside the scores/creases and cut edges. 

File Format and Quality: 

• Artwork should be designed in vector format. 
• Recommended file formats for submission are Adobe Illustrator (.AI) or editable PDF. 
• Resolution: Minimum of 300 DPI. 
• Colour mode: CMYK. Pantone colours will be converted. 
• If raster images are used, ensure all images are embedded. 
• Outline all fonts to avoid any font-related issues.

We will create the custom dieline of your box for you. Upon confirmation of your order through checkout, Customer Service will email you the box template for your artwork creation.

If you are unable to prepare high-resolution artwork, we can assist you. Simply order custom artwork preparation and submit your brief to us at salesorders@boxes24.com.au. We'll take care of the rest!
